I noticed today/yesterday Silk Road has a function for Announcements as could be seen from the front page linking the thread Security warning and advisory: http://dkn255hz262ypmii.onion/index.php?topic=196587
I was thinking it would be an interesting function if a Vendor would have the ability to post an Active Announcement which could be shown and minimized for anyone who is a fan of that specific Vendor. In theory it could also include a very small icon/picture to the side of the announcement along with getting to pick what color the Announcement Box itself would have. The Settings regarding how the Announcements system works would be set by the buyer but it would have a default setting so for example only the first top ten fans would show any Announcements . This would of course require some modifying of the "Fans"-concept as well I suppose.
If none of this is possible an alternative could be having the announcement present as a small box colored when watching any individual product listing of any vendor so they could choose to include the most important information in that box. :)

This idea is reasonably solved via the forums.
Also this could turn into a means to spam people who are 'fans.' Obviously they could simply un-fan, but again I think this is reasonably in place already with the forums.
